10 years gone. Today I'll be watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy from start to finish, listening to Radiohead, unapologetically swigging Irn Bru+wishing he was here to explain certain social theories(ists) to me. #siblings #Grief Something I wrote: https://t.co/JRgAvdTvKV

#SiblingLossAwarenessDay “Whenever I need to mention to someone that ‘my [brother] died’, it still sounds to me like a self-dramatizing lie. Tasteless. Or it’s an act of disloyalty to him. For I don’t experience him as in the least dead, but simply as ‘away’.” (Denise Riley)

New paper out from @theotherneil and me and I’m ludicrously proud of this. I know it won’t really disrupt the process of psychiatric research… but it has been amazing to really pull my lived experience into an academic paper.

As both a person bereaved by suicide and an academic, I think this film (‘Contact Hours’) will be a difficult watch and there will be things to say. #AcademicTwitter @PAPYRUS_Charity

AI isn’t allowed to assist a suicide-bereaved sibling in exploring visual-language to help explain impacts of their specific experience, but it’s ok for other types of sibling loss+grief. Hmm. Guess there’s no real ‘getting it’ outside of other siblings who’ve lost to suicide.
