It's just been announced that the Cumbrian chef, Matt Campbell, who reached the semi-finals of last year's Master Chef: The Professionals, collapsed and died during yesterday's London Marathon.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service is planning to introduce what it says will be the world’s first paramedic using a jet suit to fly to patients. A successful test flight has taken place in the Lake District. It's hoped the suit could be in use by next summer
