The importance of high-quality colostrum as a calf’s first meal is widely known and well documented. Now, newer research and anecdotal evidence shows that the value of colostrum extends past that single meal. https://t.co/Ubgtg5ewMw

Siphon tubes are used in irrigation to transfer water over a barrier, using physics through the siphon principle. They must be primed, filled with water, before they start reliably to work. Once primed, they they will continue transferring water. https://t.co/UJpP3ILFrK

🔥 How to know if your herd is suffering from heat stress? The easiest way to tell if your cows are suffering from heat stress is to measure breaths per minute: if over 60 breaths per minute, the cows are likely affected. Here are tips to cool them down: https://t.co/eHeyrVHd5J

The price for grass-fed cattle is always higher than the price for grain-fed. The Lely Exos is a one-stop grass-processing machine. It harvests the grass directly and feeds it to your herd in their enclosure.

Here's a super practical method for feed advisors or anyone else w. Koster testers to participate in evaluating 🐄 Composting Bedded Pack 💧 content. Ideal pack moisture = 40 to 65%. If it gets too wet, its a sticky, heavy, cold, shitty mess 💩😳 Just add sawdust! 😉

Silo we filled yesterday with alfalfa. Customer sent me this video from the next morning. Silo gas is extremely dangerous. Make sure to run the blower before even thinking about checking it.
