I'll admit I enjoy perpetuating the meme of elfhating, but yes he speaks the truth. The dwarves are a glorious race relegated to revilement as grumpy old miners. We craft wonders, our forges are without parallel, we bring beauty and love to the hard bones of the world.
Dwarves were largely ruined by campy exaggerations of Tolkien’s Dwarves, and near solidified by the LOTR movies reserving Gimli’s character mostly for comic relief. They have been redditized by beer drinking, elf hating, and hole digging.
