Thing must have come down with such a wallop that it’s damaged the path from where branches must have hit. That’s a lot of wood had to be cut to open the path, probably size of it the tree was over 250 years or more (beech can last to almost 1,000 years). Sad end to a beauty.

Weather over the last few days has taken a victim, grand old Beech tree in Bramhall has fallen over. Went for a look and it’s uprooted big time. This was a bloody huge thing so whoever did the work with the chainsaw to restore the public path, had some work on their hands!
