This week marks 200 years of the Irish Coast Guard. Today Niall Ferns, Coast Guard Units and Support Manager and our own Peter Larkin of Greenore Coast Guard who were both awarded a 40 years of service this year

Greenore Coast Guard , Dublin-Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team were tasked to remove a casualty from the Cooley Mountains by stretcher today who was taken to hospital by National Ambulance Service where the casualty is expected to make a full recovery.

Greenore Coast Guard Dundalk Ambulance Station Dundalk Fire & Rescue Service and Rescue 116 were involved in rescuing and assisting in airlifting a hiker from Jenninstown mountain this evening. The person had a suspected leg injury and were flown to hospital.

Last night we where tasked to assist two jet skis in trouble in the Channel between Omeath and Warrenpoint, 2 individuals where transfered to Greenore Coast Guard boat and brought to shore and both jet skis secured. In emergency ring 112 / 999 @GardaTraffic @IrishCoastGuard

We where tasked this evening to assist the Garda to search for 2 walkers lost on Slieve Foy mountain. We located the walkers and escorted them down safely off the mountain. For emergencies ring 112 or 999 for help. @IrishCoastGuard @GardaTraffic

Today we remember the crew of Rescue 116 who tragically lost their lives in the early hours of the 14th March 2017 during a rescue mission off County Mayo. The R116 helicopter that crashed had attended the scene of a helicopter crash in Carlingford on the evening 12th March RIP

Greenore Coast Guards, Local Gardai, Rescue 116 & Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue were tasked to search Slieve Foy tonight for a sighting of a missing person. Team stood down and no one located or identified as missing.

An Garda Siochana, Local Ambulance Service, Greenore Coast Guard and Rescue 116 were called to assist in airlifting a road causality to hospital from Glenmore.

Today was National Emergency Service Day with all local services lining out at Greenore today including Carlingford Fire Brigade, Greenore Coast Guards, Carlingford Red Cross, An Gardai and Dundalk Sub Aqua.
