(5/6) We’re proud to have the support of partners like @BCG, @Deloitte, @ResponsblSteel, @RockyMtnInst and the FMC to increase the speed and scale of near-zero emissions steel production by 2030 and support the global emissions reduction targets of the Paris Agreement.

(4/6) We’re calling for 3 types of collaborator;. 🟢 Purchasers to make EOIs in buying near-zero emissions steel by 2030. 🟢 Manufacturers to share their supply aspirations to meet the demand. 🟢 Innovators that are building tech to enable production of near-zero emissions steel.

(3/6) Near-Zero Steel is produced with innovative technologies to reduce the emissions produced by up to 7x. This requires the development of technologies like green hydrogen and carbon capture and storage. These technologies are developing but we must accelerate them.

(2/6) Steel accounts for 7% of global emissions and the demand for steel is expected to increase by up to 30% by 2050. Approximately 3.5 billion tonnes of emissions are produced each year by the nearly 2 billion tonnes of steel manufactured. Here’s how we can reduce this.
