My mum always said ‘before you judge somebody walk a day in their shoes’ - watched 2 fantastic programmes this week that emphasise the point - David Harewood The Dimbleby Lecture and Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland. Take the time to watch them, you won’t regret it.

2 years today since I finished work. Can’t believe how quickly it has gone and how busy I have been. Never regretted the decision but still miss many of the friends and colleagues I had the privilege to work with 😎

Great to be at the inaugural Rob Burrows marathon and Leeds half marathon today watching my youngest Adam run the half marathon. Well done mate, great run 😎

Shocking to hear on the BBC today that the age you are most likely to get murdered in UK is under the age on one. 20 murders a year!!!surely with the shared resources of so many agencies we can find a way of stopping this? #FinleyBoden Come on @RishiSunak make this the priority

Just spent the last hour watching Ambulance on BBC1. Can’t believe this Govt is still refusing to negotiate a fair pay deal with these fantastic public servants. #NHS

3 years today I had a triple heart bypass and a replacement heart valve. This morning I did 20 lengths of the local pool at 8.30am. So grateful to Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital I owe them so much. #NursesStrike

Like millions of people in this country my life was saved by the NHS and I will be forever grateful. We have to stop taking our NHS workers for granted and pay them what they are worth. I for one support their action today. #NursesStrike
