If you're keeping track at home, Tennessee and Kansas are now guaranteed top four positions in Players Era because Michigan - Auburn and Gonzaga - Maryland play each other (i.e. they can't be passed by more than two teams).

Players Era's version of winning time... Iowa State is +19 in winning margin. Kansas is currently +20. Jayhawks need to maintain their current 10-point lead vs Syracuse to stay above Iowa State in the standings, even though neither played the other.

Doesn't matter now since the Big 12 already inked with Players Era moving forward, but I would've loved to have seen a concept that made on-campus inter-conference competitions a thing.
There's a lot of interest in how bids were distributed amongst the ACC, Big 12, & Big East (the only 3 conferences to win national titles in the last decade). I suggest they work together to build on that, as their financial futures are tied to maximizing basketball $$$. (1 of 3)

Imagine the juice in Indianapolis for the Final Four if three of the great programs in NCAA history are all there going for the first titles, including Purdue in their backyard.

What a day for the Big 12. They go 7-0, including neutral court wins vs St John's, Creighton, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Texas.

Not only will the Big 12 be sending its top-8 finishers to Players Era Festival, it'll also receive a 15% equity stake.
The Big 12 is set to announce a five-year deal to take a 15% equity stake in the Players Era Festival, along with a minimum guarantee from annual revenues. The conference will receive eight bids when the tournament expands to 32 teams next season. https://t.co/1ClzjdZML0

College basketball fans are frustrated by the diminished fields in Maui and the Bahamas. But we are set for some fun Players Era games tomorrow.

Every team with a Torvik WAB above 1.0 at this time last year earned a single digit seed in the NCAA Tournament. Good sign for Nebraska.

Memphis pretty much has to win 3 of 4 games vs Louisville, Baylor, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi St to have a shot at an at-large bid. Memphis's amazing non-conference results last year basically guaranteed them a bid before AAC play started. Opposite situation this year?
@WreckEmMatt @madeformarch @BracketNky @MeeksKnowsBall @JBRBracketology Memphis still has Louisville, Baylor, Vandy and Miss St. in NonCon. They are probably going to have to win at least 2 of those game though.

Memphis's at-large hopes are nearly gone five games into the year. They'd have to be close to perfect from here to get an at-large.

The Big 12 is going to be a bloodbath. Houston, Iowa St, Arizona, & Texas Tech are loaded. And with all due respect to Braden Smith, the two best players in college basketball are at Kansas and BYU.

Will be interesting to see how the selection committee views Kansas when March rolls around. It's not atypical to see an important player miss part of a team's season. But to have the potential top pick out for so many marquee non-conference games? That's unique.
Kansas star freshman Darryn Peterson is out for the Players Era event this week in Las Vegas. https://t.co/4hgy0xLaLu

Some results that might affect the tournament field: -USC hits a buzzer beating 3 to beat Troy in 3OT -Kansas St blows out Mississippi St -Wake falls just short vs Texas Tech -UCF beats Pitt -Nebraska takes down New Mexico

Major difference for Memphis's NCAA hopes between 1-3 and 2-2 with a neutral courts win vs Purdue. Giant five minutes to play in the Bahamas.

We may only be 3-4 games into the season, but I think we've seen enough to know the Mountain West and Big East are going to send less teams dancing than they're used to.
Boise State needing to erase a late three-point deficit at home against Montana State sure makes it seem like that loss to Hawaii Pacific wasn't THAT much of a fluke.

Kansas simply doesn't have enough scorers outside of Darryn Peterson. There might not be another team that depends on one player like Kansas depends on Peterson.
Bill Self on Darryn Peterson’s status: “We’re not obviously gonna have him, you know, at least for the immediate future. I just don’t know how long that’ll be” 😳 https://t.co/vJtIaDglGm

33 of my top 40 overall seeds on this date last year made the tournament. Expect most of these teams to dance in March:
