8/8/77 - 48 years ago, 2 years out of college and knowing it all, I joined the then Boston Herald American sports dept as a staff writer/sports. Forever grateful for that opportunity--now decades into learning how little I knew. For those still reading, my heartfelt thx.

In honor of this time of year, he’s a 12-year-old me sending our team to Williamsport! We could never beat Danny Almonte and the rest of those cheaters until they finally got caught. A year later (2002) we made it through. Jack Edwards and Harold Reynolds on the call!
