I completely agree. Even if management didn't blame Chavez (although they should) it's time for a show firing. Flip some chairs. Fire Chavez. Do something.
@GoodFundies Maybe firing Chavez doesn't do anything and they still wind up sucking, but you have to do SOMETHING at this point. I still think it should have been done 2 months ago but it's almost the second week of August, can't just keep waiting for them to "figure it out".

IT IS AS BAD AS IT FEELS: the Mets offense ranks second-to-last in baseball in wRC+ over the last 30 days. They're hitting a putrid .221/.300/.360 over that time. Every player with >30 PA over the last month is below 100 wRC+ except Alvarez, Baty and Vientos. #FireChavez.

The result is a slugging-heavy 122 OPS+ compared to his career line of 126 OPS+. Hard to say which version is better, given that it seems earlier Nimmo benefited from some batted-ball luck.

Brandon Nimmo's evolution has been so strange to watch. He's walking literally 1/2 as frequently as he did in 2018 (7.5% vs 15%). But he's hitting the ball much harder (91.8 v. 89.9) with more barrels and a higher xSLG.

I think that Tong is the most exciting of these prospects. But McLean is closer and having a very solid year, with nice ratios. I think he gets the first call.
