Eureka!. The Archimedes Drive interview is out.
This Drive Eliminates Backlash — Could the Archimedes Drive Be Game-Changing for Robotics?. Scott Walter @GoingBallistic5 sits down with Thibaud Verschoor, co-founder of IMSystems @IMSystemsNL, to discuss the Archimedes Drive at Automatica 2025 . Watch:

For the record, I have been calling it Optimus 2.5 for months now. Or Optimus refresh. Nice to know the term is now official.
@teslaownersSV That’s Optimus 2.5. Optimus 3 will have agility roughly equal to an agile human.

Before anyone asks. This is not F.03 but an F.02 with light covers. F.03 is still under wraps
Figure all-hands recap:. > For the first time in human history, general robotics is within reach. > Figure’s top focus is solving general robotics. The path ahead is clear, and I expect our complete, undivided focus on it. > To support manufacturing, supply chain and fleet ops,

And guess who Devang's second guest interview is with?😉.
.@ericjang11 is spearheading AI at 1X. Eric believes 1X is on the path to becoming an AGI company — not just a robotics company. I sat down with him at 1X’s new Palo Alto office to discuss the key AI building blocks needed to bring humanoid robots into homes at scale. 00:00

There is a raging debate over sensory modes and redundancy . How much is enough and is sensory overload an issue. Perhaps the key is redundant modes are the fabric that hold actions together to solve long term planning. Think fascia.
🤖 What if a humanoid robot could make a hamburger from raw ingredients—all the way to your plate?. 🔥 Excited to announce ViTacFormer: our new pipeline for next-level dexterous manipulation with active vision + high-resolution touch. 🎯 For the first time ever, we demonstrate

Currently the only 3 DoF X-Y-Z waist design I've seen. PNDbotics always dances to their own tune.
Adam-U, an integrated platform specifically designed for data collection and operation training. It features 31 degrees of freedom, including a 6-DOF dexterous hand and a 3-DOF waist, purpose-built for human-like manipulation tasks. #HumanoidRobots #Robotics

The current generation of roboticists grew-up on Lego Mindstorm. The Reachy Mini is for the next generation. Bravo!. BTW: By sheer coincidence @MarwaEldiwiny and I are visiting LeRobot tomorrow and will have a firsthand look.
Thrilled to finally share what we've been working on for months at @huggingface 🤝@pollenrobotics. Our first robot: Reachy Mini. A dream come true: cute and low priced, hackable yet easy to use, powered by open-source and the infinite community. Tiny price, small size, huge

There are tendon based hands, and there are mechanical linkage hands. And then there is this.
Introducing Muscle v0 -- infinite degrees of freedom, from @DaxoRobotics. A different mountain to climb - with a far more beautiful peak. We built this from the ground up:.- Ultra-dexterous.- Built for machine learning.- Durable and robust. More below (1/n)

Another bookmarkable thread from Jack. Great synopsis of actuator reducers.
Actuators eat up 30-50% of a humanoid robot's BOM cost. Mass adoption? Not at these prices. This is one of the most persistent challenges in robotics, but @IMSystemsNL may have cracked the code with a novel drive. To understand it, we need to dive into the world of drives &

💯. "why and what you actually want it to do.". They lost the plot when forgetting the first rule:. Make the requirements less dumb. Folding T-shirts are not essential to factory automation . While the 11 DoF hand removed too many parts, the 22 DoF added unnecessary complexity.
Generalist robots are hard, and there are consequences to just going for the human form factor without thinking about why and what you actually want it to do. But I am confident tesla can improve their design.
