January 6th is a reminder that there is nothing guaranteed about our democracy. We all have to earn it, defend it, and protect it.

It’s 2023. That means the largest, most profitable corporations will have to start paying a 15% minimum tax. The days of the wealthiest companies not paying taxes are over.

When the hurricane hits Florida, federal aid will flow into help — paid for by tax dollars from Americans across the country. Airplanes will be full of supplies, not stunts. There will be no "us" and "them." Because this is how America should act, and most Americans know it.

Capitalism without competition isn’t capitalism. It's exploitation.

Every Republican in Congress voted against lowering prescription drug costs, health care costs, tackling the climate crisis, lowering energy costs, creating good-paying jobs, and a fairer tax system. Every single American needs to return the favor and vote them out of office.

Those who love this country must be more committed to saving our democracy than the MAGA agenda is to destroying it.

Together, Barack and Michelle made history. With grace and class, they generated hope for millions of people who were left behind for so long. And as of today, their portraits will display on the walls of this sacred place – the People’s House – forever.
