It was the CBP with a borrowed laser from the military. And Northcom is pissed. That laser is probably classified as secret, or maybe even top secret, and now it's all over the news. DHS needs to be disbanded.
Fox News: The U.S. military earlier this week shot down what turned out to be a party balloon near El Paso, Texas, after initially assessing it as a possible foreign drone, a misidentification that later led to a full airspace shutdown around the airport.

Today the Russian government attempted to fully block WhatsApp in an effort to drive people to a state-owned surveillance app. Trying to isolate over 100 million users from private and secure communication is a backwards step and can only lead to less safety for people in Russia.
