People keep asking me for a list of my books. Here is one I prepared earlier:

I keep forgetting the everyday, including celebrating new books. New books are so worth celebrating! This is a bit late, and the wrapped one is by @liviajelliot and waiting for the perfect moment to unwrap (since I missed the right time due to much illness):

One of my favorite YouTube channels, Unpacked, just released a 25-minute crash course on the Israel–Palestine conflict. It’s clear, honest, and deeply informative. If you care about the truth, take a few minutes to watch it or bookmark it for later.

This deserves a serious answer, because I think Ihab is totally honest here. A serious answer isn't short, but hopefully it's interesting. If you don't read it, you'll save yourself another interminable round of Israeli-Palestinian wrangling. Hopefully Ihab will read it. This

That argument collapses under the weight of reality. Israel never truly withdrew. Israel controls Gaza’s air, sea, borders, population registry, and even its electricity. That’s not sovereignty — it’s imprisonment. Palestinians have never rejected a genuine peace deal. Even in

The Nazis did not start with camps. They began with the exclusion of Jews on 'prudent' and 'moral' grounds. Prudent: The Villa ban on Maccabi away fans. Moral: The attack on the Israeli academic at City University. Look around. This is how it begins.

Why do so many posts cross my timeline where common Yiddish is misused by odds and sods? The most common misuse is "Oy vey." I could use the English equivalent and declaim, "Oh! Woe is me!" Or I could laugh. One thing I won't do is reply to whatever they are saying.

Hamas reportedly told Egypt it will stop carrying out summary executions in Gaza. Public pressure works! The more we expose Hamas’s crimes, the harder it becomes for them to keep killing people in silence. Don't stop exposing Hamas's criminality!

I told you a million times. I am Egyptian, I know what happened to the Jews of Egypt. I know what it looks like when a Jewish community is systematically targeted, excluded, and demonized until they have no choice but to flee with their suitcases in hand. I told you, what is

I'm sorry this is so long. And probably incoherent and uninteresting. It looks like a political diatribe, but it's actually a Jewish homily. I just had some thoughts I needed to put down in words to see if they make sense. The horrors in Nigeria and Sudan deserve mass marches in

Dreadful picture. People are taking photos. Children looking. This terror regime must end. How can we say we are morally equal? How can we demand the world to accept us?

I keep seeing claims that there is a consensus among experts that Israel is committing genocide. There is certainly a campaign to create an impression of some such consensus, but there's no evidence that it exists, and moreover it would be surprising if it existed. Here's the

I find it very difficult to retain my respect for people who airily refer to "the genocide" in Gaza, as if it's been proven (or is simply obvious) that a genocide has been taking place there. At the very least, it's far from obvious. If anything, it's obvious that what we've been

I find myself deeply puzzled by a certain Western phenomenon: the climate activists, human rights advocates, and self-proclaimed progressives who somehow end up echoing Hamas talking points. What drives that contradiction? How do people who fight to “save the planet” from harm

As a Palestinian who refuses to parrot our leadership’s lies, I have to say it bluntly: Telling Mizrahi Jews - Jews from Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, and the rest of the Arab world, that they are doing “ethnic cleansing” to us is the gaslight of the century. Let’s start

Can anybody tell me what the past two years of 'pro-Palestinian activism' has achieved apart from creating a horrifying surge in antisemitism and thus producing psychological, and yes, literal violence, for Jews globally?

On October 7, I took a hard stance. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I lost many friends in the days that followed. I didn’t grow up in an antisemitic or anti-Zionist household; I grew up Berber and in a culture shaped by a long Judeo-Islamic tradition. For the first time, I

October 7, a date which will live in infamy. It brought so much sorrow for the people who are sharing this land. If we can not learn from it, If we can not realize that the only way forward is co existence, Then we learned nothing and we sacrificed our people for nothing.
