I'm THRILLED that this paper is out in @ICB_journal! 🧵 We found that lungfish air breathing & suction feeding use remarkably similar kinematics & muscle shortening! This suggests that evolving to breathe air didn't need large changes to anatomy/mechanics https://t.co/5Gf0A6XMMt
