School🙏🏾 His talent cannot be passed by! I want to pay for his studies to make it possible for him to access good education to enable him to use his talent to change the world!🙏🏾
Today am wearing my 2002 PhD graduation outfit. So impressed that 20yrs later the outfit still fits. More impressive is that the outfit still rocks! It is a Stoned cherrie creation by Khensani Nkosi. Talk about consistency!

Today I celebrate 2yrs as VC of UCT. 3 successes stand out: Student suicides are no longer a thing. Out of 10 senior leadership appointments I made, 8 are black & 2 white. For the first time in 2020 UCT now leads Africa in ALL of the 5 major world university rankings.

this inappropriate for a wife and mother!!! You are in your mid 40s!! Put the tummy and ripped jeans away! Women that dress like teenagers are sad!
What a moment! I have been enjoying myself here in Dubai and last night I went to the Women in Tech awards ceremony as a finalist because I won the Africa Women in Tech Lifetime Achievement Award for 2023. And walla, my name gets announced as the winner of the 2023 Global
They will never accuse me of incompetence because I know my story - I was never parachuted anywhere.
They will never come for my performance because I work damn hard.
They will never accuse me of corruption because I’m not obsessed with money - I actually gave them my salary🤷🏽♀️
So good to dress up my boy, Tshwarelo for his graduation tonight. He is a BSc mathematics major currently doing a BSc(hons) in mathematics with an aim of getting into mathematics education via PGCE. So proud of him! The path is clear my boy, now walk it your way!

It was a cold, rainy morning, so I went to encourage and say goodbye to students that took the earliest shuttles to campus❤️ I went with over 100 chocolates and to my surprise, the shuttles were full I even ran out of chocolates! UCT students braved the weather and went to study!
My boy Ori is a graduate!!!❤️🥳🥳🥳 Congratulations
@Ori_RSA
!❤️
P.S: The next time you fight him on these streets, remember that he’s not just a troll, he’s an educated one😜
I popped into the library last night at around 10pm to deliver
@kitkatsa
to students who were hard at work studying. Check the reaction of these 3 students. The second one is just special! I love
@UCT_news
academics, support staff & students - diverse, gifted & super amazing!
Am enjoying the aging process, ... and the grey hair.
I am 53 years old and started greying at 32. Been using hair make up & now that its almost all grey, I decided to unveil it.
Love everything about who you are.

I went back to campus study spaces at around 11pm last night to give my students chocolates and words of encouragement as they prepare for their final exams. As usual, I was encouraged to find them hard at work!❤️❤️❤️

I didn’t have a bursary when I did my honours at Wits. In March, I was told that someone paid my fees. I didn’t know them & yet they made a big contribution to my journey.
#Grateful
that I can do the same for others today.

Back in 1998 - the year of Science and Technology (I was 32 years old). Yours truly was captured here with a luminary scientist of this country’s legacy: Prof. Malegapuru Makgoba💪🏾
Happy Thursday!♥️

I did my postgraduate studies at Wits part time while working full time & raising a family. No social life. In 1998 I took leave without pay so that I can have a strong start to my PhD. It was tough financially & personally! In the end I won!

I missed an opportunity to cap him for his BSc (Mech Eng.) last week, today I want to celebrate his birthday. He is now a Combat Engineer (Specializing in Gripen fighter Jet Aircrafts) at an Air Force Base somewhere in SA. Enjoy your birthday boy!

I will never alter one bit of myself in order to try to fit society’s perception of how a university VC looks like. My work represents me, not what I choose to wear or do in my free time. I do not compromise on authenticity; after all, I am human before I am VC.

UCT remains the Top University on the African continent. It climbed up 23 places on the global list and is currently the only university in Africa in the top 200🥳🥳🥳

We’re right at the end exams, so I went to the library at 10pm last night and found my students grinding hard, so I gave them
@BarOne_SA
chocolates to eat when they take a break. I didn’t expect to find so many students in the library on a Sunday night, so I ran out of chocs🙈
This is what happened at the end of the graduation ceremony today. It’s KZN in Cape Town. Check the two graduands dancing. You should have seen them when they walked up the stage to be capped. It was lit 🔥🔥🔥🔥

With graduation ceremonies going virtual I decided to surprise one of the BCom graduating students this week. Who knows, I may be driving past your area sometime soon. Watch this space & keep your mask & sanitiser ready, just in case 🤷🏾♀️
