The weight room is about respect. If you miss workouts, or are late to workouts, you disrespect your teammates, coaches, and the importance of training. And you are a distraction to winning.

1. Show up on time.
2. Work hard in school.
3. Take care of their bodies.
4. Stay out of trouble.
5. Treat others with respect.

If your son wants to play college FB but thinks his HS coaches are too hard on him, he probably doesn’t need to pursue college ball…it’s an entirely different level of urgency and intensity. It’s ok to just be a fan. Being coached hard isn’t for everyone and that’s ok.
Stay away from teammates who are opposed to discipline and structure, because they will never lead you in the right direction. Those individuals who always complain about the rules are always looking for allies to break them with.
