Well, I think the one and only thing the entire scientific community agrees on in respect to defining 3I/Atlas is that is an object from interstellar space 😂. I have a feeling this visitor has more suprises for us yet.

Framing is key. Human brains are built lazy. They are time saving machines. If I state this image shows a 3 million year old wheel that's what you see. If I state it shows a 3 million year old fossilised sea creature that's what you see. Beware of the 'truth' being framed.

Avi Loeb has weighed in on the new 3I/Atlas observations highlighting a lack of cometary tail inferring "the reflected sunlight originates from the surface of 3I/ATLAS. This implies a diameter of up to 46 kilometers for an albedo of 5% according to the SPHEREx data."

Framing is insanely powerful in 'news' media. Many viral stories right now curated deliberate framing to inflame people, divorced from the underlying relevant information. "A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.".

A lot of people are pissed about the James Webb Telescope image quality for 3I/Atlas, but keep in mind this was just an infrared scan not an actual image of the physical object. The scan is of a relatively small cold body 4au distant, so that is all they could get in IR.
The James Webb Telescope images of 3I/Atlas are finally available. The biggest finding is that such a high CO2/H2O ratio has never before.been observed in a comet at this distance. An unusually CO2-rich nucleus is suspected. Pre-print paper linked in comment below.

Much as I dislike ambiguous grainy UFO pics, here's mine!. The long line is the 'object' everything else is stars. Taken around 9.30pm UK. Crossed the sky fairly slowly and was faint, so must have been high up. My opinion is a debris chain from a fragmenting satellite???

It appears Age of Disclosure was not primarily intended for the public audience, this would explain the silence. If the aim was swaying politicians then keeping the film for them first makes sense. If it had a public release all the holes would be highlighted by ufologists.

I don't know what the wider public opinion is on this topic, but hopefully many agree with Eric. While I am currently the world's most active proponant for Genomic SETI (proposing it on many podcasts and shows) as well as one of the few researchers active in that field, I don't.
Experts via experience are much more reliable than experts via credential.

@The_Astral_ I'd bet everything I have, which isn't much. that nothing will ever come out of these hearings. A bunch of government answering questions from the government. all still work for them in some capacity.
