Dreadful move on the part of the @uOttawa : closing admissions in Greek & Roman Honours programme (after having already closed down MA in Late Antiquity. The death-knell of Latin and Greek, taught there since 1848. O temporal! O mores!

@ArmandDAngour I had a go at this a few years back into Glaswegian. Very hard to do without sounding homophobic (which I’m not - I was very pleased with Furi-arse etc though).

I enjoyed being interviewed by Anthony Kaldellis on his brilliant podcast Byzantium and friends about the periodisation of Latin literature (and a little about Greek), especially in Late Antiquity. https://t.co/WOliB0xcGU (1/3)

The first PhD student I have ever supervised who submitted in less than three years (and remarkable for other reasons too).
Congratulations to Dr Delila Jordan for passing her PhD without corrections: "Servius' Commentary on Vergil's Eclogues: Introduction and Commentary on praefatio and Eclogues 1-3". Many thanks to the examiners, Fabio Stok and Calum Maciver. +

Not sure how many folks still use this platform, but I hope you will share notice of a new scheme designed to spur interest in Classics in the state sector, with help from friends at Glasgow Academy. Places in N5 Latin, Higher and Adv Higher Classical Studies classes available!
We're proud to introduce a new initiative to spur uptake of Latin and Classical Studies in Scottish state schools. SATCS is an unprecendented collaboration between state & independent sectors, offering virtual access to N5, Higher & Adv Higher courses at Glasgow Acad.
