Train delays during the morning rush disrupt tens of thousands of riders’ commutes. The Hudson Tunnel Project will support reliable service by building a new train tunnel between New Jersey and New York and rehabilitating the aging tunnel that causes these delays.

🚂WEEK-END UPDATE: Palisades Tunnel Project🚧. GDC is committed to being a good neighbor. Since the Hudson County Shaft is being built across the street from homes and businesses, we’re installing a noise barrier along the edge of the construction site.

🚉WEEK-END UPDATE: Tonnelle Avenue🚂. For the first time ever, you can see daylight under Tonnelle Avenue! Soon the construction team will be able to pass beneath the highway, marking substantial completion of this project and enabling us to bring in the tunnel boring machines.

🔨WEEK-END UPDATE: HYCC-3 🚂.Excavating the trench for the HYCC-3 tunnel box doesn’t just involve digging. The team is also installing struts, tiebacks, and walers to hold up the walls of the trench. 64 struts, 95 tiebacks, and 170 walers have been installed in the trench so far.

Once again, aging infrastructure in the North River Tunnel is inconveniencing riders just in time for rush hour. Building the Hudson Tunnel Project is more important than ever to ensure passengers have a reliable commute home from work.
