Earlier this morning, My government has sponsored 59 children with heart related illnesses to a cardiac camp in Mai Mahiu. Accommodation, travel and medication cost is fully catered for by the County government of Garissa.

The peace process which I have mediated between the government of Ethiopia and ONLF concluded today in Nairobi During the 3 days meeting the parties discussed political, security and socio-economic issues and reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful solution to end the conflict.

Earlier today I met the president of Jubaland State Ahmed Madobe in Nairobi. We discussed among other things our common border line and how to straighten cross-border peace in the region.

Attended the reopening of the Ethiopian peace process between the Ethiopian government and the Ogaden National Liberation Front ( ONLF). The talks which I have coordinated for the last six years have reached a crucial stage.1

The High level dignitaries and donor agencies were on familiarization tour to asses gaps especially in areas of Livestock and Agriculture which form more than 80% of our county economy.They committed to support areas of crop production modern livestock and rearing mechanisms.

Good news from Garissa County! @UNICEFKenya has handed over 8 generators to @GarissaGov to improve access to safe water for communities. More than 29,000 people, 100,000 livestock, 2,300 school children and 5 health facilities will benefit from the generators.

I wish all the KCPE candidates across Garissa County success that the entire people of Garissa can pride in.

I have ordered the ban of large scale logging and transportation of charcoal to outside Garissa County effective 1st Oct 2017

Large scale logging for purposes of charcoal has caused drastic effects to the environment, hence the ban
