@GardaTraffic
Unfortunately, the vehicles doing 65kph in a 100kph zone are just as dangerous on the roads. The standard of driving on Irish roads is dreadful in my humble opinion
@GardaTraffic
Why is this all about speeding? Bad driving, mobile phone use, sitting in the middle lane of the M50 or the N7 doing 65km per hour etc etc etc.Start targeting these as well please.
@GardaTraffic
Wouldn't it make more sense to have permanent cameras in place that catch speeding motorists 24 hours a day, every day.
Why aren't there more average speed camera locations?
@GardaTraffic
Why is a gosafe van on the garda Twitter page? This is a private money-making company, and it makes people think that gosafe vans are operated by Guards, when they aren't.
@GardaTraffic
There’s a SERIOUS lack of imagination when it comes to the location of these speed vans. They’re not in black spots for accidents, they’re not on dangerous corners, they on straight patches of the road. I don’t get it..
@GardaTraffic
I suggest to concentrate on black spots and more rural roads and of course everyone should obey the speed limits and imagine there’s more accident prone areas than a straight stretch on a motorway or dual carriageway?
@GardaTraffic
And will anything change ?
Not until a half decent fine system is implemented.
€1000 fine for the 1st offence.
No appeal - whatsoever.
And €5000 fine for the 2nd offence if it is less than 2 years since the 1st.
No appeal either.
The Courts system will have to be taken out!
