New paper shows acute impacts of tags on diving seabirds. Birds with heavier tags do shorter & shallower dives with slower ascent rates, and increased resting time between dives. https://t.co/D0vqXM4oJg

This year, with the support of the Seabird Watch Project, we used drones to monitor Alderney's gannets on Les Etacs and Ortac. This method is more cost-effective and less logistically demanding compared to previous methods. Check out the latest PR https://t.co/Mo32oReiVw

📈 When I became Minister for Heritage, only 2.3% of Ireland's marine area was protected. This new SPA designation for Wexford brings us up to 9.4% - a 400% increase, which makes the 10% I promised under the EU Biodiversity Strategy very achievable within the current year.
