We are reaching a point where we can abstract away the execution environment altogether to create trustless applications on Bitcoin. For the user, they will just be using their Bitcoin on the Bitcoin protocol, but it is more immersive than before.
The cool thing about building on L1 is that we don't need to focus on how high current TVL is. We much rather focus on Lifetime BTC Tx Value. This metric more closely aligns with people swapping in and out of BTC directly, which is the best possible trade UX on Bitcoin L1.
