New research from @weathergaige, @DGoldbergAQ, and @SusanAnenberg ! Covered in the NYT yesterday 👉 https://t.co/ehVkbjFtOa
@GWpublichealth @GWtweets
nytimes.com
Research showed truck-related releases of nitrogen dioxide, which can cause asthma, concentrated around some 150,000 warehouses nationwide.
🚨New paper! We used satellite data to quantify air pollution (NO2) impacts near warehouses. On average, we observe a ~20% near-warehouse NO2 enhancement. As a reminder, warehouses are disproportionately located in marginalized and minoritized communities.

If you're interested in ways to better model & understand ozone, it's important to accurately account for soil NOx. Check out this paper by @GWpublichealth post-doc Daniel Huber! It's an excellent one!
The final chapter of my Ph.D. is published! We show how the soil moisture vs. soil NOx relationship can help explain NO2 variability over Central U.S. cropland, with implications for rural to urban AQ. Check out our publication at JGR: Atmospheres 👉 https://t.co/Uz87V9oJSu
