Now that I officially passed my Viva with minor corrections, I can tell y’all how lonely, draining and confusing third year felt. I’m grateful I had friend a support system that constantly checked in just to make sure I was alright. I felt seen, known and celebrated!
Now that I’m officially in 3rd year, I can tell y’all how stressful 2nd year of my PhD was. Between data collection and planning a 600 guest wedding in 7 months, most of which I wasn’t even in the country, I deffo survived by grace. I was a bride and now I’m a wife🥰

Guys, I did it! After 37 months, 60,000 words, 7 Chapters, 12 manuscripts co-authored, and only two crying sessions later I’m Phinally Done!🥹 I successfully defended my thesis for a PhD in Global Health. Was it hard? Yes Did I give up? No.
2 academic degrees later and I’m looking forward to my third and final one. It’s like I never learn that schools hard

Has anyone faced this? Minor revisions → resubmitted → rejection. 🤯 Is it OK to ask the editor whether concerns were about how we addressed comments or something else? #academia #AcademicTwitter #PhDlife #AcademicChatter #ResearchLife #AcademicPublishing #phdchat #ScholarLife

One paper published, one paper in peer review! I’m just here to say I still think qualitative methods are not for me. I did find the process quite interesting yet challenging 😅.
In my short research career, I have thought that Qualitative methods are not for me. Here I am, about to do 2 qualitative studies. I will take the learning process and maybe come back to tag this and say how I actually enjoyed the process.

Manuscript writing. The introduction section sets the scene. What is the broad area of your research.. what is already known? What is the gap? Why is the gap important? How does your proposed study differ from previous studies?

Time to pass on the baton! It’s been an incredible journey serving as the Vice President for Women in Global Health- Malawi. The position taught communication, diplomacy and what I want to call “bureaucracy”. Congratulations to the incoming team!
After 2 exciting years as the Engagement Lead for @WGH_Malawi , I am excited to serve as the Vice President for the new term. I will be taking over from @DrBonHealth
