I was honored to work alongside President Carter to promote democracy and free elections around the world, including in Lebanon in 2009. His commitment to human rights wasn't just a philosophy it was his life's work and every day act of service.

Yesterday, we lost President Jimmy Carter, a leader whose life embodied service—from the @USNavy to governor to 39th president, where he championed a “competent, compassionate” government. I join the millions of Americans who honor & draw inspiration from his enduring principles.

We’re using $18M of #InflationReductionAct funds for a deep-energy retrofit at the Gignoux U.S. Courthouse in Portland, Maine. Union workers will install electric heat pumps and quad-pane windows, cutting energy use by 40%—a win for the grid & taxpayers!
