I think it’s more a brushback pitch. Trump has beaten up Powell so much that no one can even imagine any tightening going forward. This in turn keeps the markets and the economy humming as we go into midterms next year with Trump having a compliant Fed at his back.
What's the issue that's causing the Trump administration to so vehemently demand aggressive rate cuts?. I really don't get it.
