Haven't been online much lately because I've been hammering away at the audio commentary for Sex Beyond the Grave in which I get into all the mysticism and spiritualism, obscure cultural references, spooky Hong Kong history, and the movie's surprisingly complicated production.

Renowned food connoisseur Chua Lam has died at the age of 83, according to an announcement on his Facebook page on Friday. Born in Singapore, Chua spent most of his life in Hong Kong, where he built a career in the city's entertainment and culinary scene as a movie producer and

Tong Kai took his own life. It's believed he was depressed due to his wife Suet Nei's battle with pancreatic cancer. He had mentioned to his son that he wanted to die together with her.
Tong Kai with partner in crime Lau Kar-leung were the original HK action guys, predating Shaw Bros and establishing the action choreographer as we know it today. Especially good at choreographing women, his more fanciful Yuen Clan training balanced out Lau's hard-hitting kung fu.
