If banks needed cash to post margin against their silver paper short positions surely they got some from the FED that just lent them ~26bn$ through the standing repo facility (meant to be used for emergency liquidity fyi) 🙄
My 2 cents: these 2 silver slams equivalent to ~11% of the annual supply will require over 10bn$ margin with the CME to be kept open till EOD. That’s a ton of margin. Either these are bought back in full or the futures OI spikes today. I personally expect these will be closed.
