@FreeRangeKids @LetGrowOrg Every year my midwestern MIL asks when Halloween is in our neighborhood! And every year I say, “October 31? On Halloween?” If only more nights were like Halloween, with kids bopping from house and house, feeling independent and safe!

I salute you for allowing your child to do something millions upon millions of kids do every day. I know how our culture is making us all IMAGINE THE WORST in almost EVERY SITUATION. It is hard to buck. Only REALITY can make us breathe easy again. YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK!

@FreeRangeKids I'm sending my 7 year old to school on the bus on her own slowly but surely and the fear that my imagination creates is crazy but I nevertheless persevere and hope I'm not pressuring her.

Since when do towns get to declare the HOURS (& DATE) of Halloween?! It's not a state-sponsored activity. It's a TRADITION. It can go past 6 p.m.! It can occur ON THE 31st and not, for some reason, in some towns, only on Oct 26 from 1 to 3! #LIBERATEHALLOWEEN! @LetGrowOrg
