Great writing challenges you. It engages you, and it exudes emotion. Sometimes those emotions are ones you don't understand. Sometimes those emotions are uncomfortable. Sometimes that's the point. Sometimes you need to feel uncomfortable to understand art and life as a whole.

Never is their lack of understanding about technology treated as a flaw or something to laugh at. It's done purely to endear us to them. They live simple lives in a complicated world. Their morals are simple, as are Clark's. It's the exact reason they understand Clark's struggle.

I don't understand this weird perspective people have about the Kents in this movie that just because they aren't exactly tech-savvy that means the movie is treating them like bumbling idiots when it's very clear that their simple life is what gave them the wisdom to raise Clark.

This is actually a really lame and detractive idea that strips the world of DC of its vastness and makes everything feel smaller and less significant. If everything is tied to Krypton, then no other planet matters and the world doesn't need to be expanded on or explored.

Anybody unironically saying this has never had the displeasure of actually watching Supergirl 1984.
