I have just spoken with His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt. We share the same conviction: The military offensive in Gaza that Israel is preparing can only lead to disaster for both peoples and risks plunging the entire region

Macron has acknowledged that the anticolonial struggle in Niger was a full-blown war. He further recognized that France engaged in some neocolonial meddling after independence. Why? Read my piece (in French) in The Conversation. https://t.co/bRAkGBjAof

I had the opportunity to speak about the mysterious and tragic plane crash of Dag Hammarskjöld in 1961. The podcast by @BNR has high production value, making it enjoyable to listen to even on a beach or during a walk. https://t.co/tFz2uVLDGR

A very sad day. Professor V.Y. Mudimbe passed away this morning. He was 83 years old. A giant has moved on and an irreplaceable library has been burnt down. Rest well my friend and mentor. Yours was a life that was well lived.
