Remember last year when I made a call-out for stories of the Orkney island of Eynhallow? I was commissioned by @grainne_gms on behalf of @HistEnvScot to create a folklore-memory map. I'm pleased to say this is now on show in an exhibition entitled 'In the Land, of the People'.

A pleasure to think and write about @KathleenJamie’s latest collection, Cairn, for @paperboatswrite. This book alongside several others of Jamie’s, prose and poetry, are on the shelves in Irvine (and will be heading elsewhere soon too).

This is super, a great way of tying people and their stories to place, and the similarity to the to & fro of waves is a lovely visual metaphor. We need more of this!

It's been so exciting having my writing translated into Swedish by Anna - so many interesting conversations come up, for example some of the tidal words I used were untranslatable due to the tideless nature of the Baltic Sea. Things that I take for granted are suddenly novel.
