I'm a notoriously slow reader and don't read enough, despite living in a flat that resembles a library. So I'm setting myself the challenge of reading a book per week during 2025 - I will keep track of my progress on here with a short review of each book I complete

36. Also read this great little history of the BCP. Learned quite a lot about how it was composed and the battles that were subsequently fought over it.

35. Time for a novel. This one was another page turner, I devoured it in a few days. I particularly enjoyed the Netflix documentary bits scattered throughout, and some great twists

One of the highlights of my week is the catechesis class I teach between our two morning services. The most wonderful group, mostly Iranian, with a real thirst for Christian learning and understanding. Teaching them teaches me so much.

34. This was much more enjoyable than I expected it to be. A well-written biography of a fascinating individual about whom I previously knew almost nothing. A glimpse of a Church and a world that no longer exists

33. I enjoyed reading this a lot, it is a very entertaining overview of the recent history of the CofE. But - it was written 10 years ago and shows its age in its over-the-top pessimism. Time for a sequel.
