As my project is entirely self funded, all the money from the sales of these calendars is going directly into funding my project, allowing me to work on the next book, website, research, artwork and articles.

Every year we leave the garden to go wild. This year there are so many bees, flies & butterflies enjoying the plants. The noise is just amazing, so much buzzing. Despite the hot and prolonged dry weather, the plants are doing really well, especially after some much needed rain.

This isn't a nature reserve (although that might be debatable now!) This is actually our garden and this morning I counted 4 gatekeeper butterflies fluttering between the oregano and marjoram. As well as large whites, brimstone & red admiral butterflies . @savebutterflies

Happy FrogFriday. I accidently disturbed this beauty the other day whilst filling the bird baths. I didn't know it was there until it hopped onto the pebbles at the edge of the pond where it sat for a little while before hopping off into the wild area next to the pond.

Such a wonderful encounter with a very fresh swallowtail butterfly in Switzerland. Believe it or not, these were taken on my phone!

This right here is why, from spring through to early autumn, I barely touch the garden other than some bits that need trimming or tidying, which is all done by hand.

This was quite a surprise on yesterday's walk. I was busy photographing some textures of tree bark for reference photos when this viviparus lizard caught a rather large ant.

Yesterday afternoon I was busy working away making a penguin as you do, and had the feeling I was being watched. This little green eyed cutie was on the table watching me, good job I had my camera next to me.
