This makes me wonder about blockchain applications for real time tracking across the food supply chain.
One Bitcoin transaction uses as much energy as a single U.S. household consumes in three weeks. In total, Bitcoin now consumes about as much energy as Portugal. And it’s about to get much, much worse than that.

Thanks @HarvardFLPC for developing this report! Here is an idea for a follow-up report: survey hunger relief orgs about 'real vs perceived' food safety issues and the types of food needed for donation. I could share some of this data from my west coast research interviews.
Excited about our new report, a first-ever survey of state food safety officials to understand how they communicate food safety rules for donated foods, and barriers they face!
