Today, 60 million acres of U.S. farmland are being used to produce fuel, and 40% of all corn grown in the US is converted to ethanol. The amount of land dedicated to fuel production harms the climate and consumers as the growing global land squeeze threatens food security.

As a Michigan grad, this example is especially upsetting to me - but I know it’s happening all over. Elected leaders actively try to suppress the college vote by making it confusing and difficult for students to exercise their rights, and it needs to end.

I had the good fortune to see Angela Lansbury in Blithe Spirit at the Kennedy Center in 2015 (she was amazing, duh) and I was also lucky enough to dine at the same restaurant as her afterward, but I didn’t bother her - was about ten feet away though! RIP to an absolute legend.
