With what muskrat did at the inauguration I can no longer bear to use this app. I'll leave this account as an archive & still post on my art account bc I have to, but for mushing find me here: π¦ https://t.co/tg18caDN60 π· https://t.co/2VYTFY6ozb π https://t.co/ezpxJw8mQh

Final stretch out run before Tahquamenon! We did a shorter run today because we leave tomorrow and I still have SO much to do between packing and making necklines and loading the truck etc...

Test run for Bogey's new extra long booties I made for her very specific issues I've been fighting the past few weeks on these long dryland runs, tell me why she looks like a horse π€£

I spent last week identifying which roads are runnable and which are ice. I've isolated a 14mi loop, so we're just pounding that over & over. A little boring but thankful we can train! Our 1st race is this weekend, I'll be hooking up 8 for my 1st sled run of the season, oh boy π€£

Cold, bluebird sunny day - my favorite kind of winter day π₯° We haven't run since it thawed and re-froze Sunday. I was counting on predicted snow to make things less icy, but it was a huge bust and we got 1in. I said screw it, we are running anyways- the roads were totally fine!

πΎ #Iditarod #ThrowbackThursday πΎ Paul Gebhart staightens his team out on a glare ice lagoon 35 miles from the Nome finish line. Gebhart finished The Iditarod in 2nd place that year, crossing under the Burled Arch in 9d 7h 28m 12s π· @iditarodjeff | https://t.co/VTdMvEHvs8

Then we finished with a 10mi night run! I dont do them often because I have trouble with mushing being anything other than the 1st task of the day. But when mushing lasts all day, well, here we areπ€£ it was good to test out all the night gear. The dogs were even stronger this run

Then we set up camp! This is so the dogs can learn to rest at checkpoints - we give them a meal and straw beds. With Flounder and Tupac retired, no one on my team is checkpoint trained, so most of them just stood and started into the void for 2 hours π€£ They'll get there
