Of all such educational processes, the hardest and apparently the most hopeless is the education of the educated.

We should definitely give the most political power to those who think they know what is best for the rest of us. Guaranteed to work.

@wilsonmarkc Interestingly, in 1866 John Stuart Mill proposed a weighted vote by education: universal franchise for all then two votes for high school grads, three for college grads, and, of course, lots of votes for profs. Strangely, the proposal didn't get very far in the 2nd reform bill.

Good work. I think gold bullion needs to be exempt from a sales tax. But gold jewelry can be taxed as a luxury good. Also, there is a lot to work out on the plan to phase out Social Security, which must be done. It's a huge problem.

Well I suppose you could try to make a case in court, but since the states havent certified their elections, it might be difficult to estsblish standing. After the certification, you might have standing but unfortunately a court cannot overrule an act of the legislature. You

My two-part most controversial opinion: 1) Politicians should be paid at least £1 million a year 2) All financial impropriety, corruption, bribery and so on by politicians should be subject to public caning on first offence and death penalty for second offence

People have a really strong intuition that if people are allowed to argue whatever they want it will create the opportunity for chaos and destabilizing bad ideas to run rampant and undermine things they value in real ways. And that intuition is totally correct. The explosion in

I've said it before, I'll say it again. We do not have a federal government in the traditional sense. We have a kleptocracy. This is not a flower: It is an orchid mantis. It looks like a flower so it can eat bees. A kleptocracy is not a government. It looks like a

WESTERN ANTI-DEMOCRACIES The underlying issue is that "democratic" governments are actually wildly democratically unpopular, as you can see from the recent image below: Basically, Washington DC and its Western European satellite states would not retain control — or the ability

I realize American politicians are looking for ways to pander to the anger relating to Israel among key voting constituencies, but the US Constitution is still in effect and censorship remains a forbidden weapon for punishing Americans with bad views. Sorry.

People ask me all the time if I am "pro-Israel" because I am a Jew who has lived in Israel, and my answer is that being "pro-Israel" or being "pro-Palestine" or being a "Zionist" does not properly capture the nuance of thought most people do or should have about this issue. It
