Installation of the Overhead Catenary System poles (OCS) for the Finch West LRT are now complete! Fun fact: There are 481 OCS poles along the alignment.
Testing 1, 2, 3. Look for the Finch West LRT vehicles to be testing on the guideway between York Gate Boulevard and Kipling Avenue this week. Remember to practice safety around the guideway.
Be advised, light rail vehicle (LRV) testing on the Finch Ave. W. main line is ongoing. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to obey all traffic and directional signage while in the area.
Crews have completed the installation of the 200 m canopy that connects to Humber College campus. It was installed in 36 sections, which included overhead, cladding and glassworks. This will provide commuters a safe path to and from the campus to the station.

The Finch West LRT’s construction provided a wonderful opportunity to install bike lanes across the alignment, which along with the LRT, will provide environmentally friendly ways to commute. Teams are working on the lanes between John Garland Blvd. and Silverstone Dr.
As testing continues along the alignment, we want to remind pedestrians to use designated crossings. Crossing over or walking along the guideway is never safe

The new Multi-Use Pathway (MUP) on Finch Ave. W. between Norfinch Dr. and Signet Dr. is now open to the public! The MUP offers pedestrians a safe way to avoid busy motor traffic in the area.
Did you know? The new Finch West LRT vehicles are 48 metres in length. That's about one-tenth as tall as The CN Tower! Vehicles have the capacity to carry 144 people seated or 300 people standing.
New permanent traffic signals have been installed at Westmore Rd. and Finch Ave. W. intersection. 22 intersections are now complete, with only seven remaining! 🎉
All Passenger Visual Information System’s (PVIS) have been installed and are currently being commissioned along the alignment.
Once operational, these displays will keep passengers informed with real-time updates on arrivals and important news or alerts.
The Finch West LRT boasts 2 stations and 16 stops, with each stop featuring one of three platform styles: Island, Mirror, and Near & Far.
At Rowntree Mills stop, you'll find a Near & Far layout, with eastbound and westbound platforms situated on opposite sides of Islington Ave.

. Every stop across the alignment features ramp access, making it easy for all members of the community to reach each platform.
Each stop along the Finch West LRT features one of three platform styles: Island, Mirror, and Near & Far.
At the Martin Grove stop, you'll find an Island layout, where both east and westbound LRVs are accessible from a central platform.
The Finch West LRT's overhead catenary system will be supported by 477 poles – 304 of which are now installed! This system will provide power to our light rail vehicles as they traverse Finch Avenue West.
Last night, teams began installing the first canopy shelters for the line at Driftwood, which will provide a covered waiting area on the stop platform.
Finch West LRT teams have started installing tactile plates at surface stops. The plates mark the edge of the platform and will improve commuter safety while waiting for the next train.
The holidays may be far behind us, but earlier this month, a special present arrived at the MSF wrapped up on a flatbed.

LRV testing is now taking place on Finch Avenue West? Never attempt to approach an LRV being tested, and follow all signage and turning restrictions when driving in the area
Crews working on the Finch West LRT project are in the final stages of paving on Finch Avenue West, from Kipling Avenue to 3025 Finch Ave W. Pedestrians and motorists are reminded to use caution when in the area and adhere to directional signage.
Concrete works are complete for the multi-purpose tunnel at Highway 400! Teams are now entering the home stretch of the tunnel's construction, which will allow pedestrians and cyclists to bypass the busy southbound on-ramp once complete.
The Finch West LRT is a new 10km modern tram line in Toronto that will tie together a number of key destinations and underserved communities. We got an incredible tour of the project, so come along with us and see the Finch LRT!
Check out the new Public Visual Information System (PVIS) screens installed at the Duncanwoods stop. Once in service, these displays will provide passengers real-time updates on vehicle arrivals as well as news or alerts.

Humber College Station has reached structural completion! With all steel and concrete work done, teams have turned towards fitting out the interior of the station, as shown in this new video:
Near Sentinel Road and our LRV testing area, teams have installed new sidewalks and bike lanes. These will eventually be extended to the rest of the Finch West LRT corridor as construction wraps up.
At all 26 intersections on the Finch West LRT alignment, we’ll be installing new permanent street lighting and traffic signals. Teams have started by completing Highway 400 and Sentinel Road — 24 to go!
Progress continues on the portal that will guide trains in and out of Humber College Station. With track slab work nearly complete, rail installation will soon begin.

Our crews are working 24/7 this weekend to complete the northbound Hwy. 400 bridge replacement. Early this morning, the team excavated and relocated the old bridge, making space for the new one!

? Each Finch West LRT stop will have four information displays, which will provide LRV wait times and other important information for your commute.
Teams are installing a rail switch on Finch Avenue West near Kendleton Drive. This switch allows LRVs to transfer to the opposite track, allowing them to change direction quickly and safely.
Rail installation is happening now in the Finch West Station portal. The diverging rail segments will form a diamond crossover, allowing LRVs to switch from one track to another.
Continuing with our showcase of progress at Finch West Station, here's an interior shot showing the installation of the new pedestrian accessibility ramps.
Crews are installing emergency exit gates at stops across the Finch West LRT alignment. These gates will be installed at the west and east ends of all stop platforms.
