🥕 We then tackled pathway balancing for carotenoid production. Using CIFR, we achieved high zeaxanthin content and full conversion of intermediates to final products! 💪🍊 (8/11)

⚙️ pFNC worked in all three bugs, too! Efficiency was very high in P. putida and C. necator, but lower in E. coli. Make sure to test efficiency before starting to engineer your favorite bacterium with CIFR! 🧫🧪 (5/11)

🔬 We tested CIFR by integrating msfGFP into Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas putida, and Cupriavidus necator – and it worked in all of them, falling in a different place every time! 🎉 In P. putida, integration in different loci yielded varied expression levels! (3/11)

We created two plasmid sets: pCIFR and pFNC. pCIFR, derived from pBAMD1 (, enables transposition of modules into the target bacteria’s genome. Pick your favorite integrant by phenotype! 🎨 Is it colored? ✨ Fluorescent? Or maybe growth-coupled? 🌱 (2/11)
