Sad to hear about the #BioBeads spill at Camber Sands, UK. Like #nurdles, these tiny plastic pellets pollute coasts & harm wildlife that mistake them for food. We must enforce stronger containment & stop all #microplastics at source🌊 https://t.co/Ml3M9umZPM

🏴Scotland’s EASR framework (in force Nov 1st) incorporates the safe sludge matrix - a welcome step forward. But these measures still don't address the range of harmful contaminants in biosolids. We must go further to protect Scotland’s soil.🪱 More here:

New research shows that the way we currently spread sewage sludge on land fails to protect 95% of soil biota from microplastics.🪱 A devastating 39% of species were found to be affected by the study's worst-case microplastics scenario of 100% exposure. 🔍 https://t.co/ahYDwzNiF7
