Today's @scotgov decision to consent #BerwickBank is devastating news for our declining #seabird populations, with tens of thousands predicted to be killed by the development. We will look closely at this deeply concerning decision & consider next steps.

This brilliant article by the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Elouise Dalziel beautifully captures the joy of snorkelling in Scotland🤿. Did you know that two of the Scottish Wildlife Trust's East Lothian Snorkel trail sites are right here in North Berwick?.

Look out for pufflings!🚨. In July & August, confused & bewildered pufflings sometimes turn up in unusual places. They fledge at night & often become disorientated by bright lights, heading towards them rather than out to sea!🌊. 📷©️J McDermaid

Unlike many gulls, kittiwakes are rarely seen inland & spend the majority of their time at sea. They nest on rocky ledges & nest in huge, noisy colonies. It’s possible to spot them around the majority of the Scottish coast during summer. 📷©️G Macvean

Last chance to see puffins!⌛. In just a few weeks time it's likely that most puffins will have left the local islands🌊. Book onto one of our wildlife boat trips now to ensure you don't miss out: 🚤. A reminder too that puffins don't mind the rain!🌧️

While their beauty is often overlooked for their chip-stealing tendencies, it's important to remember that these birds have been driven towards close-proximity with us due to habitat and food loss driven by human activity.
