We built MANSSION from an idea to 8-figures in 3 years without taking outside money. And now we’re repeating that with 3 other DTC companies. Here's the formula we followed, and the lessons we've learned:.

“We did $100k from email last week!”. Great but was that $100k from healthy, sustainable comms?. Or was it from 4 back-to-back discount blasts?. There’s a difference. Short-term email revenue feels good but it can nuke list health and long-term margin if you overdo it. We’ve.

Every email you send to a subscriber is a reminder for them to cancel. With subscription businesses, you’re not just sending content, you’re managing risk. Too much noise? Canceled. Too many promos? Canceled. Too little value? Canceled. The best subscription brands walk a.

We’ve built a reputation in DTC for one thing: world class retention. Not paid media. Not SEO. Retention Marketing for 8- and 9-figure brands. But our strategists aren’t one dimensional. They understand eCommerce holistically. Because you can’t master retention if you don’t.

Let’s talk startup vs. 9-5 risk. Everyone says building a startup is risky and statistically, they’re right. • 90% of startups fail.• Only 4% ever hit $1M+ in ARR.• Only 1 in 200 make it past $10M. But here’s the flip side:. In a 9–5, one decision from someone you’ve never.

AI is going to eat certain jobs, fast. First the easy stuff, then the average stuff. But for people who already know what they’re doing? It’s a weapon. It amplifies instinct, speeds up output, and reduces drag. You still need the taste, discernment, and hard-earned reps. AI.

You’d be shocked how many 9-figure brands have no idea what they’re doing in retention. • Flows untouched for a year.• No segment strategy.• Promo after promo.• No revenue targets or CLV tracking. But because they are doing so many other things right, they get copied. What.

Most founders don’t realize it, but every business lives on a spectrum:. Highly commoditized ↔ Highly tailored. Commoditized:. • Competing on price.• Easily replaced.• High volume, low margin. Tailored:. • Deeply differentiated.• High switching cost.• Lower volume, high.

Even when the revenue is up, the team is great, the business is smooth. Your brain still goes: “What’s about to break?”. That’s founder life. You’re always looking for cracks no one else sees. The trick isn’t turning it off. It’s learning how to live with it.

“We drove 50% of revenue from email!”. Cool… but let’s break that down. If 90% of it came from campaigns you’re probably not driving real retention. You’re just over-relying on promos. Healthy email revenue looks like this:. • Flows do a lot of the heavy lifting.• Campaigns.

Most brands launch subscriptions to fix LTV. But a bad product in a subscription just makes people churn faster. Now you’re annoying and forgettable. If the product isn’t worth coming back for, locking someone in just accelerates the fallout. Fix the experience first, then.

The best operators move fast - but it never feels frantic. Their Slack isn’t chaotic. Their team isn’t burned out. Their days aren’t spent “catching up.”. Fast is good. Frantic is bad. There’s always frantic times, it shouldn’t be the norm. Build systems that move quickly.

A lot of subscription brands don’t lose customers to bad service. They lose them to silence. The product was fine. The experience was fine. But nothing happened after the first purchase. No moment. No connection No reminder you appreciate them. People don’t always churn.

Most agencies are glorified consultants. Ours isn’t. I’m not just an agency owner. I built a brand. With my own money, team, and stress. A lot of our agency did the same. Brand side first. Agency side second. So when we advise brands, it’s never “here’s a deck.”. It’s:.
