i just want to finish saying all this support means the world to us, this last winter was one of the worst of our lives, riddled with losses and grief, and the fact that this was even remotely able to happen was no small miracle, thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart.
I have experience with older cats (my 2 old ladies are almost 15, they just stayed with my folks when I moved out) and we’re even luckier that Fern’s job is work from home, so he will be highly supervised during the transition 3/?.

We’re also lucky enough to have a guest room in our apartment that he can have his own space, we’ll be following Jackson Galaxy’s cat introduction guide as close as possible and VERY slowly to minimize fear between all 3 cats 2/?.

Some other notes for our getting Mercury, ei, yes we’re young adults can we handle it? We’ve currently got 2 other cats (Baby and Badger) who are both 3 years old, we’re very lucky that they are both very mild mannered 1/?.

He’s already injured so we’ll need a way to check on him at any point, and with how his eyes looked in the shelter photo we’re afraid he might loose them, we want to make sure his transition is as smooth as possible and that’s in big part bc of everything y’all have done <3.

If folks are wondering why we’re repairing my car as too getting plane tickets the simple answer is we don’t want to put him through that stress, especially when he’s been living rough.1/2.
