If we let cases like this slide, we allow a precedent to be set. So every time someone is wrongfully imprisoned, they’ll look to this poor excuse for a judgement and give some ridiculously small amount as compensation.

This ruling is an ugly stain on our judicial system. Money aside, it echoes the disregard this country has for mental health. To say he presented himself as a healthy young man during court proceedings and therefore did not suffer psychological trauma is disdainful.

Make noice, spread the word. Let it be known we do not accept this ruling. Write to News papers, in your blogs, in comment sections. Let’s get the court to review its decision.

1. There are many different types and forms of mental illness. 2. It is possible he suffered mental illness for a specific amount of time within the 13 years, maybe his first few months or the first 5 years. And having been out of jail since January2017 is recovering/recovered.
