Shimano is a massive piece of shit, he is the head of a yakuza crime family that murders and tortures people. He is a villain, you are not supposed to like him as a person.
The yakuza series is proof that every series needs to have one really bad entry for all hate to be directed towards otherwise people try and pretend games that are awesome are the worst thing ever in order for the role of "worst one in the series" to be filled
Fun Yakuza fact: Ryoma Takeuchi (Live action Kiryu actor) saw Kiryu as a man who is "starved for love". Specifically, "He wants a family, he wants love, and he doesn’t even realize how much this drives him".

Mine is the most comedically villainous guy in the series he literally destroys an orphanage with a bulldozer and yet he still gets somewhat of a redemption
I still cannot believe that this 30 yo man just chose to beef with a bunch of middle schoolers. Idk about you but this scene will never stop being funny to me
Happy Yakuza 3 15th anniversary anw
It's so so odd how yakuza 6 was going to be kiryu's final game, yet it's the game to make the least references to the rest of the series, its the complete opposite of opposite of what youd except from a finale. I really like yakuza 6 but I'm so glad it wasnt kiryu's finale game
Yakuza 6 is the first mainline game to not feature any version of the series' main theme, "Recieve You!" However it can be heard in the Memories secrion as well as the guitar riff being in the Final Boss theme!
Even after 15 years this remains one of the funniest scenes in the Yakuza games. Rikiya's face when he comes up with the idea and Kiryu shoving the shit out of him makes me laugh every time. Happy birthday Yakuza 3 :)
A lot of people dont like yakuza 3 because it's not as action packed because you spend a good chunk of the game just spending time at the orphanage. But I think people dont understand how important this section is.
There's actually a secret third protagonist in infinite wealth, it's shimano and his party is a bunch of clones of himself that he made sorry for the spoilers guys here's a leaked pic
Anyone else feel like rgg have been getting ready lazy recently in terms of writing? They still haven't come up with a way for shimano to return, just feels like they don't even care about the fans
They should make a yakuza game that's actually just fucking dogshit so people will stop calling kiwami 2 the worst in the series!! It is not even that bad!!
What is an opinion/issue you have with Yakuza/Like a Dragon games that you know is just "a you problem"?
I'll start: I'd love to see (more) morally gray protagonists for a change. I think the protags we have seen are very easily likable.
Can I just say that jumping off this roof in infinite wealth was terrible. No where near as technically advanced and satisfying as previous entries. You just plop down onto the floor with no impact or anything. Absolute SHIT GAME 0/10, pathetic excuse of an entry. Do better rgg.
I dont think some people understand this, on the surface of course it seems silly to include karaoke and the sub story stuff because it's too silly! But that stuff is so so important at making yakuza special. It allows us to see the human side of these characters, we see them
wait people are actually mad at the yakuza TV series not having karaoke? Were they expecting this to be some kind of sitcom with yakuza characters in it or what
Honestly, I dont think it was the intention of rgg for Mine and Diago's story to be about gay love, but it should have been because that is far more interesting and compelling story than the alternative
Theres a guy who goes to my judo training who looks exactly like kanda, whenever I fight him it's like I'm fighting kanda... one step closer to the man himself...
It allows us to experience the connection kiryu has with the morning glory kids. If the "boring" sections were cut out and we went straight to kamurucho to jump into that action and fight dudes we wouldn't have spent nearly as much time with the morning glory kids
The transition of "Bon Voyage" going from super positive and welcoming to the most evil, bone chilling phrase ever and then back to super positive again was such a brilliant part of 8. Maybe it seems like I'm hyping up such a small thing but for me it was honestly so well done
@nishikiwami
So weird how they gave shimano perfect abs for kiwami when it would be almost impossible to have them like that at his size. Everything else is massive and then his stomach basically goes IN like wtf makes no sense
