This is a very worrying decision, and I fear may have a chilling effect on the medical profession in the UK. In my opinion, professional regulators should focus primarily on issues with directly affect patient safety.

Having lived in Ireland for nearly 10 years, I consider it my second home, and it really breaks my heart knowing that I won’t be given the same opportunity as Irish/EU students to continue on my medical training in Ireland.
